This article is about whiplash and would guide you in the process of claiming a payout for the same.

Whiplash is a form of neck injury that occurs due to the sudden to and fro motion of the neck. This abrupt motion caused generally due to some rampant force( Rear end collision is a very common cause for it.) leads to rupturing of the tissues, ligaments and muscles of the neck and other areas near the spinal region causing severe pain and a restricted range of motion of the neck. The depth and seriousness of the injury would depend on the force that has been applied on the neck. Generally greater the speed during accident greater is the injury( It may not always be true).

Whiplash payout is the process of compensating the person who has been through whiplash. The claim for compensation should be done by the concerned party or his family. On average the whiplash payout ranged from about 1000 pounds in minor cases with less whiplash symptoms and lower grade of injury and in case the whiplash symptoms are neither small and neither too serious it would range about 3000-5000 Pounds. However it is the extreme cases that are too dangerous and may need lot of medical treatments and hence deserve higher compensations. It may range from about 8,000 Pounds for a 3rd grande whiplash injury and reach until 50,000 Euros or even more in case the patient will have to be bedridden for major part of his life.

Whiplash neck injury may also appear after some time following the injury. Even though most of the symptoms will be seen within a month, there have been some cases where the patient has reported for whiplash after some years of the accident. This is why probably that the insurance body would compensate with whiplash payouts within 3 years of the accidents.

In case you have come through whiplash the immediate process should be to get treated from a doctor and in parallel get and certificate from him stating his opinion about the same which you can use to claim whiplash compensation.
